This is the first I've ever had the chance to listen to Sam Spade. While the recordings are generally low quality, the acting and sound effects are great, and the writing is outstanding--perhaps the best and most subtle humor of any old time radio show. Since the genre is overdone, the humor is what gives this show extra credit and really distinguishes Sam from the other "hard-boiled detectives."
